Where did this weekend go??

I spent a really lazy day with my boys today.  Didn’t go anywhere (partly because I thought that a wedding shower that Kristi was hosting started at 10:30 and lasted to 12…but found out that it didn’t start until 1 and ended at 3), so the morning was spent with swords and running around making loud noises and pretending to be astroboy.  Then after naps (I love naps) we played a bit more ‘til mom got home.

The coaching network thing with Tony Morgan (@tonymorganlive) has been really productive for me.  Killing Cockroaches, Leadership, Delegation, Influence, Strengths, Church Growth, Multi-site…the brain is swelling with ideas. It’s a huge honor to be able to listen and communicate with some high caliber leaders from around the country. I’ll be blogging more about this later.

Merge Weekend was a huge success.  I’m so humbled to hear about God using my story to work in the lives of our students. Really the story of how God changed my life using the influence of my best friend Jonathan Devore.  Many decisions were made. Several students will be baptized tomorrow as a result of what God is doing in their lives.  God you are awesome!

One Fish, Two Fish … Dead Fish, Dead Fish… Kristi took the plunge and got Jonathan fish and after a little more than 24 hrs. they are both dead.  We hadn’t even named them yet. Don’t know yet if we will get rid of them before Jonathan wakes up or if we let him do it with us… I don’t think he had that much time to get too emotionally attached.

1) Nothing… I really had a great vacation with my family.  We traveled to Castle Rock, CO and visited my parents, brother and sister-in-law and family, skied twice, tubed once, and had a great time.  Tyler really liked the mountains thought he was on one the whole time and Jonathan was the tubing master…he would have done it forever if they would let him. Thinking of braving the whole family ski thing next time we’re there in ski season.

2) Something Huge… Have you ever had one of those dreams where you know that there is something big that you are forgetting about. Mine is that I won’t graduate from College (which I did in 2002) because I forgot about a class all semester. I hate the dream…and the feeling…I spend the entire next day wondering If I’m missing something huge. God, please let me know!?!

3) Something Serious… I pride myself with the appearance of organization, but behind every cabinet door and in every foot locker there is a jumbled mess of disorganization.  Kristi and I had a chance to take care of this personally when we moved locally before Christmas, it really felt like we got rid of half of everything. I was challenged while I was away that discipline, even with a bad attitude, can still lead to results and freedom. Striving to be more disciplined in my organization.
