Coldplay’s “fix you” is one of my favorite songs. It came up on my pandora mix. You can watch the video HERE. It was on the movie trailers for World Trade Center. I couldn’t help but think about how cool it would be if someone could have fixed the towers or the lives that were shattered when they fell. That thought always comes up when I hear the song now.

The song always reminds me of our God who was literally dying to “fix you.” There is so much emotion and passion in the fact that Jesus gave everything to put us back together and make us brand new.

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH NEW?

1 >> PROTECT IT.. like David said in the Psalms “restore unto me the joy of my salvation”.. you never want that newness to wear off.

2 >> USE IT.. Some things you make to just sit and look pretty. A vase with flowers, pictures & paintings, my wife . but I don’t think that is what God intended for us to do. remember “Faith without works is DEAD.”

3 >> Go BACK and get it CLEANED.. Kristi loves to get her wedding and engagement rings cleaned at the jewelers. Guys don’t really think about those things.

THING TO DO WHEN YOU GET A BREAK FROM WORK?

So this past week we were off. I have a list of several things that I like to do when I get some time off. I’ll do my list like a countdown.. and invite you to share your favorite in the comments.

#5 >> SHOPPING.. Yes I’m a guy.. and NO I’m not going to turn in my man card. I really do like getting out with the masses.. especially around Christmas time.. NOTE: I like shopping and not buying.

#4 >> Playing Video Games.. I don’t get to do much of this when I’m at work all day. So, I do take advantage of the downtime to get some Call of Duty in..

#3 >> JUST CHILL.. I love just veging out. Like couch potato kinda stuff, watch info-mercials because they are just on, channel surf for hours at a time.. Anything UN-productive.

#2 >> Be with Family.. Family is FUN! Wife, Kids, Mom, Dad, Brothers, IN-LAWS.. all of them love getting some time with them.

#1 >> TRAVEL.. Just going places is fun for me. The further and newer the better. I love experiencing new places. There is something about getting in a car or on a plane with a destination.. I know weird.. but I love it.

SO What is your favorite thing to do with some time off?

BooYah!! is about as American as apple pie.  Well at least I’m trying to make it that way.  I’ve been trying to get more and more people saying it. While it has caught on in one of my small circles of influence  (and even been introduced to some young Italians) I had been getting pretty discouraged about the BooYah!! domination.  That is until I saw this:

There are some inappropriate ways to use a BooYah!! but I’ll give you some positive examples:

You pass a hard test: “I just dominated that test!! BooYah!!”

Ate your favorite dish: “I just killed my intestines at BellyBusters!! BooYah!!”

You beat a friend in friendly competition: “YOU SUCK!! BooYah!!”

I strongly encourage you to use the BooYah!! appropriately and frequently and bring back this american legend.

A lot of times we treat God’s word this way. There is a bunch of people listening or even debating God’s word, but not enough people doing it!

When you do what it says, you’ll change the world!
