I Hate Bees!!

Several weeks ago I stuck walked outside and saw a black mass in a tree.  I thought that some trash or something had gotten stuck in the tree but on closer examination (I wish I wasn’t so curious) it was a mass of bees. I’M TERRIFIED OF BEES, really anything with stingers. I got close enough to see that they were bees, but our high school pastor Ben took the pictures with my phone.

I have this crazy reaction to flying bugs. (you never know which one has a stinger) I have been known to scream like a girl, but I always run and jerk suddenly to get away from them. I have been told it is quite funny.  I also know that one of their favorite places to hang is around outdoor trashcans and avoid even being near them. The fear I have of bees makes me do weird things and has kept me from doing things that I need to do.

*MERGE 8.25.2010 :: Toilets, Toilet Paper, Cupcakes & Kittens

Great night last night at *MERGE.  You can check out some other pics of the night here.

We had a fun back to school night there were over 230 there and it was a blast. I got to share the Gospel and had a student give their life to Christ.

People were pelted with cupcakes, we saw a kitten stand on it two legs, had an awesome toilet paper launch and topped it off with the game “bobbing for turds.”  A real proud moment. (or have we sunk to a new low?)

HOPE

“My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness…”

Yes… I quoted a hymn. Every time I see a rainbow it reminds me of Noah, hope and Jeremiah 29:11. I’m not 100% sure all those things go together but they do in my head. The boys and I saw this double rainbow in our neighborhood. This time this hymn was added to the mix of things that pop into my head when seeing a rainbow.

I looked at my boys and they looked back at me really interested to hear what I had to say. I said, “Jesus really is the only hope for everyone.” Jonathan (6) replied, “That’s right, Dad!” Tyler (3) looked up at the rainbow and then at the door to the house and back at me and said, “I’m thirsty and hungry.”

It was a really cool rainbow!

do you know who dressed this kid?

Daddy Dressed Tyler

I think it is a new trend.

No, I didn’t pick this out for my son to wear. Tyler insisted on it. Even after I explained that it didn’t really go together, he insisted. I could have forced him to wear something different, but decided his initiative was better than my worries about people staring and thinking “Oh, his dad must have dressed him.”
